Forced updating for older IPhones

Why is EBay forcing me to get another phone to continue using their app? This iPhone 7+ works fine for me and the version of the EBay app I have was working fine until the notifications started that it was no longer supported. Is there a work around?

It is not eBay, but iPhone. Most app companies update to keep up with glitches and current trends in order to offer the consumer a better experience. Most phone manufacturers do not care for the .1% that has an older platform/version, that can be looked as being cost prohibitive or maybe time consuming. They cater more to recent platforms/versions and get more revenue from new phone sales.

eBay isn’t forcing you to do anything. The app is updated regularly to keep up with updates of operating systems. Your iPhone 7+ is pretty much obsolete and no longer supported by Apple.

The work around would be to delete the app and use the web browser in your iPhone.

You don't need a new phone, just get rid of the outdated app and use the web browser and go to the site.

Have a great day.

Which I've been doing thank you very much. However, I'm not upgrading my phone due to both cost and not needing a new one to do what I'm doing now. I know that Apple is doing the forcing here because they are making bookoo money off new hardware. I'll just stick to my old technology until it dies or I get a deal from my wireless carrier.
