Error message into falsely being charged

Our card got charged about 7 times for 3000 dollars because when we tried to purchase a graphics card, an error message popped up and charged us multiple times every time we failed to purchase the item. It was all extremely confusing and I don’t know if this is eBays fault or the seller. I tried to purchase the same thing on a different card and device and got the same error message but from what I can tell, no charges. Someone please explain this to me and if we possibly got scammed.

It wouldn't be the seller's fault unless the seller has somehow hacked ebay's payment system.  Have those charges actually cleared or are they still pending/processing?
