We apologize about the issues you are running when trying to view descriptions through the app. There is a know issues on this and you can reach out to customer support here and let them know that you are running into ALERT14037 and they will be able to have your account added to the ticket.

@2004princeton when this issue happened before for both the iOS and android apps, one suggested workaround was to "double tap" on the listing title.
I know the title doesn't look like a link (not underlined or a different color), but recent updates to the app appear to treat it like one and users discovered that by tapping on the listing title two times, it would pop up the description.
Here's an example I was able to screenshot from the Android app.
Not sure if the issue you are running into is the same or if this workaround will work, but it's worth a shot.
