Hi I've been having an issue with the eBay app. Its been working fine for the last year.

about 8am GMT the app stopped working and keeps telling me to update the app, saying "this version of the app is no longer supported please take a few minutes to update".

Ive tried going through the Google app store to update and there is no updates, so I tried updating the app store and that too is fully up to date.

Ive tried clearing my cash and all data and tried to reinstalling the app still no luck.

I've also gone as far as a full factory reset and update of my device still the same.

Hopefully someone can help as I use the app to buy and sell on eBay.

I'm using an android device and it has android v9

From what I can find this has been an issue before and nothing so far has worked.

What version of Android and the eBay app do you have?

I believe the current latest version of the eBay app is 6.72.0.4.

If you do not have that version you may have an issue with Google Play Services or Google Play Store. See here:

When you go into the android play store and look for the ebay app and then tap on the ebay app, can you tell us what date it is showing in the "What's new" text.

It seems it is a bigger problem than I thought

I'm using a

cubot j7

Android version 9

And the date for the app is definitely wrong (screenshot attached)

I have also heard that cubits j7 are having issues with Android as they haven't updated to version 10.

That is more weird is my galaxy tab A which is on Android version 7.1.1 is still working fine with the app

Thanks for sharing. This is an interesting situation where the device you have is on android 9 but google detects that you are on android 7. That version it wants to give you is our android 7 version. We are looking into this right now.
