Can no longer search from app. Type words, click GO and then in just taken to previous search result

Almost feels like a redirect to previous result. Let's say I googled and got a search link or something that got me into a search result in the app from an external place. If I then click the search magnifying glass, type Iin a newv search term and click GO, I get the animation as if I've initiated a new search, but I'm just taken back to the same previous search result. Tried to reset app and phone to no avail.

Thanks for the post. Can you post a screen shot of the app once you get into a search results from google.
