Hello
Does this look like a Beret Oval? It doesnt look to me to be like the shape of modern beret ovals.
I cannot find it anywhere on the net?
Perhaps a foreign insignia?, its the same size as other modern beret ovals
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks
Bill

Currently US Army Beret flashes are shield shaped. Your oval patch most closely resembles the beret flash (obsolete) of 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry, Quite likely your oval was for this unit before changes to the shape were made. The latest army uniform regulation state that only Airborne, Ranger and Special Forces. Evryone else wears the generic blue flash.

I forget about this: The oval patch like you have, is worn by soldiers on the ASU (Army Service Uniform) behind certain qualification badges.
Forget what I said about changing the shape of the beret flash.
