I purchased a loose heat treated Madagascar ruby in Nov of 2016. I did not get it mounted until Feb of this year as I was waiting for the 14k setting to arrive. After wearing it several times, I noticed the top facet was scratched noticeably, which told me that what I received could not have been genuine or of the quality claimed by the seller. At this point, I don't think I am entitled to a refund, but I emailed the seller anyway and haven't gotten any response. My question now is, can I still make a comment to warn others about the seller's items not being genuine? ( I am out the cost of the stone plus the cost to set, though I can still use the setting itself for something else.) 😞 I've also had recent experiences with items from China described as 14k, not being so. I've gotten refunds, but can't help asking shouldn't others be warned and is there nothing we can do to prevent inaccurate descriptions such as these?
