Hi eBay community. A few of my new diamond-cut (and thick) rope chains have jagged, sharp edges & will catch on things like a piece of clothing, etc.. but the chains are still super high quality & you can’t really see any links sticking out. You have to look very close to see any defects @ all. The chains look great & hold up well just like my others (I have silver chains of different styles, sizes, etc.) —— To anyone who would know: If a rope chain (mine are diamond-cut designed, but still similar to any other rope chain) has those jagged, sharp edges / very small defects, could that lead to the chain somehow actually breaking @ some point? Or do they usually hold up well even with those small jagged links? I’ve never had chains w/ this issue, so that’s why I’m asking. Also, if something did happen where would someone go to have a nice silver rope chain repaired? Sorry for such a long post, I just try to keep all my chains in good condition & avoid a break, especially since they cost a good bit of $ — Thank you for your time.

Hello - I have owned necklaces over the years that have had rough edges - I remember a wide box chain in the 1980s that snagged my sweaters. It never broke - it was just a pain to deal with. Regarding repairs - certain links are easier to fix/solder than others. It depends on the necklace , the link, and the size, i.e. width. Anyway - that's just my 2-cents. Warm Regards, jaysandi
