Machine Age Bracelet ID

I have this unique bracelet that looks old.  It has two pieces of red plastic-like material that tests positive for bakelite, or possibly galalith.  The metal part is not magnetic.  I'm hoping that this bracelet was made by Jakob Bengel.  There is no signature.  Are there any other clues that I can look for in identifying this piece?

Wow! That is wild isn't it. Well for starters it looks like it fits into his style of period art deco 1930s modernist, Galalith and Chrome plated.

This is a piece that might behoove you to sign up at Worthpoint.com for a free trial run. They have the knowledgeable folks there that could look at your pictures and they know what to look for.

Bengel pieces were found unsigned alot of times and an expert can determine if it indeed this is a Bengel piece or not.

I hope it turns out well for you, it's amazing to see this! Silver

Thanks...I might do that.  Is there a good test for galalith?  I've been looking, but so far, no one has given me any direction.  I swabbed it with Simichrome and it turned up a dark, yellowish brown, like what you'd see for Bakelite, but this material looks a little different from Bakelite...a little softer...like butter that has sat out for an hour, or so.

Hmmm I don't recall, that Bengal guy invented it and it's similar to bakelite, think it's a German plastic. I wouldn't touch it, you need to get this bracelet view by a professional and if it is indeed a real Bengal than your looking at money...honey! Please keep us informed!
