Question about closed auction

Just curious about these pins, they speak to me as something special. Does anyone know what they are?

Question about closed auction

Crossed arrows is an insignia for a British Army special forces.  Arrows also often mean mourning for lovers.  Crossed swords mean mourning the loss of someone in battle.  My guess is this is a mourning piece for a loved one lost in WWI or the Boer Wars.  I don't know about the other pin, it reminds me of an infinity symbol or an urn.
