It's a pillow. New, a dime a dozen - compared to vintage, let alone antique.
Calligraphy is probably something auspicious - the unpainted, impress is probably the factory.

Thank you, it was my grandparents and they have had it since before I was born, 1969.
How can you tell how old??
How to tell how old? Well, the transfer decal decoration. The large hole in the bottom. The shape.
Do a google image search for antique porcelain pillow - most of what you will see are copies. The small rectangular blocks were opium pillows. The cat pillows were Tzu Chou. There were pillows that were made of leather and were boxes for merchants to keep records and valuables.
I don't know all that much about the pillows - they can be a study in themselves.
