Kimono boxes from Japan

Anybody out there know what these cute boxes might be called. They are little wooden painted/lacquered boxes in the shape of a little round person with a Kimono on. I believe these came from Japan during WWII. They belonged to my husband's parents. Dale had an uncle and aunt who both were in Japan during WWII. One in the Army the other working for the US Government. One of them probably bought them.  Thankimono.jpgbox.jpg
