How much money is ebay going to pay out before they figure out that this program has serious (and expensive) issues?

Hey,
I just sent a $1400 YSL bag to the authenticator's address in Las Vegas. As of now, a week later, they are saying it is "not in the system" and no one seems to know where it is! I used signature required USPS and they couldn't be more helpful, even leaving me a detailed voicemail and sending me an email regarding the 100% definite delivery of the package (and showing as delivered on their website).
After a call to the authenticator's department at Ebay I was told they HOPED that someone would respond to a request to look for my item! Hoped!!!! I find it unbelievable that Ebay doesn't have direct contact with the authenticator's in the case of a missing high dollar item like this.
I want some sort of resolution and not to be left with no bag and no funds! Really terrible service from Ebay with me personally having to chase both them and USPS (the latter being excellent at getting back to me).
Really unhappy.

Are they holding your money? Or did they release it?
If the item is lost, they're responsible to reimburse the buyer and allow you to keep the money.

Hi,
As of now they are holding my money but of the buyer asks for a refund due to lack of activity I don’t know what will happen?
How long did it take until eBay paid out to you? I’ve had no email response to the evidence I’ve sent of the USPS delivery.
Thanks again.

I haven't sold anything that's part of the "authenticity guaranteed" program.
But my advice is to wait to see if luxury_handbags@ebay responds and if not, send a private message to ebay for business on Facebook. Remind them that once an item reaches the authentication center, they are responsible for the loss (per the program) and have to make both you and the buyer whole.
IMO, they shouldn't even be holding your money! It should be released. They received and signed for the item.

So.....after having the package since April 24th, today (May 4th) they miraculously found and authenticated the bag!
I have called eBay multiple times but I believe the representative that I talked with today actually picked up the phone and did something about it. I'd be VERY cautious sending any high dollar item to the Las Vegas authenticator in the future. It seems like a very disorganized place!

i was the buyer. Eventually item sent back to buyer and no sale occurred. Loss for seller buyer and eBay

The responsibility for pretty much every scenario you posed is shouldered by eBay. Once they authenticate an item, anything that happens afterward is on them. So if the item arrives at the buyer's address in a condition worse than when it was listed, or if the package is lost, then eBay handles that matter with the buyer. You, the seller, have zero responsibility for such issues. In fact, if the buyer leaves you a negative for such problems, eBay will remove it once you call their customer support. In short, once the authenticator agrees that the item is authentic and in the condition described in the listing, the seller's part is done.
