Issue with return description from a buyer

I recently sold a vintage Coach bag from the 1990’s. The buyer has received the item, and is now requesting a refund stating that the bag does not match the pictures or description, even though I took pictures of the bag myself, and pointed out all the defects by description and photos. The handbag was in good shape, but far from perfect considering it is 30+ years old. The buyer also stated in their reason for return that eBay flagged the bag as counterfeit. It DEFINITELY is not. It has all of the correct serial numbers and markings consistent with a 1990’s Coach bag, as well as it belonged to someone I know. I told the customer that it definitely is not counterfeit, and even though I don’t normally accept returns, if she would ship it back to me within 30 days, that I would refund her once it is received. My issue is that I disagree with the buyer’s reasoning for returning the bag, and I am worried that eBay might take adverse action or something if they (incorrectly) think that I am selling fakes or misrepresenting my items on my page. Should I be worried? Thanks

The buyer is 100% correct if she alleged that the bag is fake.

Even if the bag were authentic (which it's not), your description would make it NAD.

1. You claim it's a " 1990’s Coach bag" but if it were genuine, the creed/serial number indicate it would have been made in 2003.

2. Title states it's "Y2K" (an overworked and mean-nothing term) but the bag isn't from the turn of the century.

3. The plant code, "F" indicates a plant that was used ONLY in 1994 for very few months and items made in the F factory had creeds with a unique and specific font, something your bag doesn't have.

Since selling counterfeit items is illegal, it would be a waste of money to pay return shipping of an item you cannot resell. My recommendation would be to offer profuse apologies for selling a fake and issue a full refund, allowing her to dispose of it as she sees fit.

And most important both for your reputation as well as your account, verify authenticity BEFORE listing items!

Any time a buyer states that the Item is Not as Described, you need to accept the return, pay for the return shipping label, and once tracking shows Delivered back to you, you have 2 days to refund the buyer.
