Speaking of bottom-dwellers, I guess you were right about our recent one, gallinator. I missed the fun the first time around, so I was wondering why he was so controversial. You guys knew him better than I did... and better, I guess, than I'll ever want to know him.

Yeah, capt., you got it. I started hanging around here at the tail-end of the first go-round with abate, so I never got the full impact. When he came back, I knew very little of his history on this board.

I wondered why gallinator seemed to dislike him so. Eventually, the facade fell down and abate's true colors shown through. He just couldn't seem to find the rhythm of this board, and never realized that his rants were alienating people. I suspect gall was never fooled by abate's "repentance."

It's often been remarked that this board is exceptionally civil, well-spoken and good-looking. Well, maybe not the last part. But I think the vast majority of posters here are taking care to keep things pleasant.... without turning into a huggy, feel-good board or a flame-throwing board.

Maybe we should e-mail ebay and remind them it is time to have more fun.

Given this seller's name, the other boards are probably having too much fun with this guy, and have asked eBay to let him stay a little longer.

Remember the episode of The Simpsons where Skinner makes Bart the school safety... and ushers in a tough new era of enforcement? Skinner promises Mr. Glasscock that no one will ever make fun of his name again...
