Signed French demitasse cup and saucer

Can anyone help with identifying the age and maker of this cup and saucer set?  See photos.

It says "Catherine de Medicis".  Catherine d' Medici was Queen of France in the mid-16th Century.  Maybe this is someone's idea of a cup she might have used, or maybe it's a copy of a cup she did use.   Doesn't look to have much age on it, to my eye.

 It's very much like the work of Asch, I'll add some images: 

 

 

 

 Im not saying this IS Asch, but I'm fairly sure it's a piece of Tours china, 19th century meant to look like 16th century. 

Is there a "watermark" perhaps? Sometimes it's hard to see a glazed over impressed mark. Have a good, close look again, just in case.
