Royal typewriter Mercury dating

I have a Royal portable typewriter --Mercury series.  Serial number on back plate is 2234728.  Most be looking at something wrong because I can't find No in data base that looks like my typewriter. Would someone tell me what I'm doing wrong

Royal Mercury 1968 Small metal-bodied portable, made by Silver-Reed, in Japan. Early models are painted ivory.

Probably a different numbering standard for those made in Japan. And Silver Reed- check that.

Looked at Silver Reed.  SR # are too high.

Have also looked at Silver Seiko and Halsberg.
