Northwest Coast Native American or Other?

Any thoughts on the age and origin of the cedar-bark(?) woven vest? Native American or other?

My thoughts are within the title given the color palette and use of chevrons, but I'm sure I'm wrong? It's a bit stiff and brittle so it's not displayed well.

You might get a better response by sending a note to the Burke museum. I had a dog hair weaving once.
