Try taking some pictures outside in a shaded area not in direct sunlight.
This indoor picture is too grainy due to low light conditions.
Direct sun light will wash out the image.
You should be able to read that tiny text on the ribbon.
I would suggest looking into symbols for various Masonic or other groups.
The sun-like symbol reminds me of the Masonic Blazing-Star & All-Seeing Eye symbols.
Other Masonic items I sold in the past also used the open Bible symbol which appears to be located in the center. I sold a bunch of Order of the Eastern Star open bible pins years ago.
Some of these groups operated auxiliary units for women which often have their own symbols. Some are for men only. Some are both sexes.
Of course it could be totally unrelated to the Masons. It could be a fraternal organization organized to provide members with life insurance or grave markers after death such as the Modern Woodmen of America.
Browse eBay's Masonic and relate categories.
Google aspects of what you see on the medal such as what appears to be a U.S. flag with 8 stars and nine stripes.
