Indian Moghul Watercolor Painting

Hello, I have a 8" x 5.1/2" Watercolor painting of an Indian Couple on a Royal Looking Camel.  My question is what is it painted on?..It looks like a black woven fabric  feels like paper I just don;t know. I'm not even sure if you can tell by my pictures or not...see what you think. Thankyou for your help. The 2nd picture is from the back of the fabric.

I can't tell anything from the photos, but if it is fabric then it is likely to be silk, isn't it?

Thankyou Maxine...doesn't appear to be on silk..it is a black mesh type material that crinkles like paper?
