Help with 2 miniature baskets... is Taupou around?

it has been a while so apologize to the others that have helped me with Southwestern items, in the past.

But Taupou is the only user name i remember.

these tiny baskets vary in diameter from 1.4" to close to 1.5"...

they are just precious.

now the material used (the white and the dark brown) is shiny.

could these be woven with horse hair?

are these Native American?

bought them in the ABQ NM area...

any info is appreciated...

thank you...

So  Pima, Papago. Yours appear to be new. Here is a AR appraisal of some older ones that give a good overview.http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/roadshow/season/20/little-rock-ar/appraisals/pima-woven-horsehair-miniature-...

The Native people called Papago by whites in the past would prefer to be called Tohono O’odham, according to their tribal govenment.

That name might also help in researching these horsehair baskets.
