Stadt Lutter am Barenberge. 10 Pfennig. 1917.

6 May 2024- Greetings to all coin, token, and paper money collectors, where-ever you might be. (Attention: this note IS NOT FOR SALE). Another small note from the collection acquired by Heron in 2023.  Not many remaining for reporting.

Town of Lutter named for the Lutter creek adjacent to the town.

The Barenberge is a mountain in the Hartz mountain range in Saxony.

Am in English is 'on the'.

Type Note: Vorschuss und Sparverein.

English = 'Advances' and savings association.

Note Size= 68.8mm X 49.7mm.

Note grade = Uncirculated.

Numista N#231016. Nice Photo at Numista site.

Ref: Keller 1315 d.

This is an 'einseitiger' note. Printed on one side only.

Issue Date = 1 May 1917.  A genuine Kriegsgeld issue.

Attention: This neat note is NOT FOR SALE.

Year 956; town built by Emperor Otto the First.

1259: Lutter mentioned as a 'water castle'.  A designation for a castle

completely surrounded by water.

Lutter town is located 211 miles East of Landau in der Pfalz.

**Another neat small note added to Heron's small collection of WW One emergency money issues.  A somewhat 'obscure' town on a mountain.

Collecting these Kriegsgeld notes is a really fun part of the numismatics hobby.  And the numerous amounts of available items will last a lifetime of collecting.  All for fun! **

Atencion: This note IS NOT FOR SALE.
