I am in the market for some new organizational tools for my business and I found a seller who had exactly what I was looking for/ looking at their listing I see that they have deal pricing if you buy more than one which was awesome because I was looking for 3 and I definitely wouldn't mind a little savings. Of course the deal is only applied when you buy more than 1 and the more you buy the bigger the savings, which makes sense to me. Well, my issue arises with the fact that if I try to add more than 1 to cart eBay gives me the error "You are currently winning or have bought the maximum-allowed number of this seller's items in the last 10 days."
I have come to find that this means that the seller has it set up so that you can't buy more than 1 item every 10 days from them. This seems like a totally sleezy move to lure people in with the idea of a deal/savings just to tell them SIKE!
Is this a normal practice? Why even go through the time of setting up a sale like that if you're not going to let people use it?

"I have come to find that this means that the seller has it set up so that you can't buy more than 1 item every 10 days from them".
Your seller must be new or very inexperienced. That restriction is a default buyer requirement, most new or very inexperienced sellers do not know about, as @aqeeqsouq wrote. Unfortunately, you cannot send the provided link through ebay messages. You can message the seller explain what you would like to do and the message you receive, then tell them to do an online search for "Setting buyer requirements - ebay". That will give them the info on how to change the default setting, which is:
[ ] Block buyers who are currently winning or have bought 1 v of my items in the last 10 days.
Ask the seller to notify you when they have made the change, so you can make your purchases.

The seller probably set those settings in error not knowing they would conflict with the promotion.
You can contact them and ask.

The seller can remove this option from his account.
if you want to know how to remove this option, you will find it at "Selling preferences" page:

The thing is they are not new or inexperienced - they have sold thousands (possible hundreds of thousands) of items on ebay. But it doesn't matter so much anymore as I found the items in person and cheaper. But I will definitely keep this in mind if I come across this issue again in the future. Thank you!
