In the picture of the copyright page, you will see "copyright 1952, 1953"....and then below it you will see "L.3.62".
Questions:
1.) What does the L.3.62 indicate? And what "printing"would it be?
I recently saw a sold copy of the same book that had the same 1952, 1953 date, but instead of where the L.3.62 was, there was just the letter Z. The seller indicated it was a First printing.
2.) What does the letter Z mean - and did that indicate a First Printing?

The American editions in that series all stated 1st edition on their copyright pages.
You have a later printing, as did the seller who claimed his "Z" copy was a 1st. The code in your book indicates a 1962 printing date.

That is really helpful - thank you for replying...now the numbers in the book make sense to me. I am now just curious what the "z" stands for....presume it is a code for a print year?
