I sold item and shipped right away even upgraded it to priority since buyer wanted it quickly for a gift. The item did not arrive on time and after I called post office I was told that there was an issue with forwarding which cause major delays. Buyer was furious and made threats so I refunded them to avoid them opening a case and leaving me a negative. Now I see that I got a defect for a cancelled transaction. I didnt cancel it. when I called ebay they told me that even though I initiated a refund to make the buyer happy it is still counted as a defect. This makes no sense. So in other words I should have waited till the buyer left me a negative? Any advise on this situation? Should I pursue this ?
