tax invoices??? Sellers responsibility or Ebay??

I bought goods through Ebay but can't seem to get any straight answers about where the tax invoice is for my purchases. Sellers say they can't generate invoices??? 

Any advice please???

ebay will send an invoice to the buyer that includes item price + shipping + sales tax.  The seller receives the item price + sales tax less the final value fee on the sale.  ebay sends the sales tax to the buyer's state revenue collecting service.
