iOS 9.3.5 or below the current version 10 required for eBay app, anybody have solutions?

I very rarely plan on using my older iPad Mini, but Apple doesn't plan to update these devices past the 9.3.5 version they say is the most the hardware can support. 

So when eBay's app developers (like so many others out there) rushed out their latest updated app, it left users like myself with options for my apps if you ever reconditioned or deleted or restore apps. 

(even upgrading them causes it too I guess?) 

I would have thought someone else must have already solved this, but there was not anything I found posted regarding this topic in the search results in eBay help, nor n the details of the app, in the Apple Store if the developer got wind yet and found a way to post a notice in the Store, but that would just make it common sense courtesy wouldn't it?
