how to mark an item as sent

I am having a problem marking that an item was shipped. They were sent as 2 regular first class envelopes with regular stamps so I did not pay postage on the site with  postage. When i try to mark it as shipped the drop down boxes dont move so i can select anything. I dont want my ebay account to be dinged for non shipment. I have already messaged the buyer and let them know it has shipped but how do i get ebay to fix it.
