how can I send a partial refund to a buyer for postage overage?

how can I send a partial refund to a buyer for postage overage? Can I still use paypal if the buyers payment isnt listed there?i am now set up with managed payments. Im sure i can just send him money but will Ebay refund their %?

@mr.paradoxman   Locate the sold item... click on the arrow next to it to open the drop-down menu.  

Next select send refund> reason> amount> submit

Keep in mind that ebay doesn't refund sellers fees on partial refunds.  What I usually do is reduce the refund amount by the extra fees that I am paying, the buyer is happy to save money and I am happy to not pay extra fees.
