excel spreadsheet and templets

Hi, I enjoy using templets but I think I am doing it the hard way. Currently; I have to copy/paste 1 row at a time and that can be time consuming if the listing is large.

2024 will be my third year selling Trading cards on ebay. I need to learn more of ebay's features so I can make my store POP in the coming year. Any help or guides will be truly appreciated and will definitely be incorporated. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Buckets Of Money -tcg

Are you using eBay's spreadsheet uploader within Seller Hub > Reports > Uploads?

By downloading a category-specific spreadsheet template from that page in XLSX format, you can populate each listing row with the convenience of dropdown options embedded in the XLSX file. When your listings are populated, export as CSV and upload a single CSV file with all of your new listings to eBay.

If that is not your question, could you be more specific?

excel spreadsheet and templets

Hi and thank you. I have not used the ebay excel spreadsheet, yet! I think I need a list of category names, codes, etc. so my listing will post. I thought the drop downs would provide the needed but there's nothing in the drop downs? I would like to use the ebay spreadsheet and could use some help but do not want to burden you with my issues. But if you could point me in the right direction; I am confident in my abilities. Thank you for your help and support.

Sincerely,

Since you are mostly selling trading cards, let's look at downloading a spreadsheet template for that category.  Start on Seller Hub > Reports > Uploads  and download a template for the sports trading cards (singles) category.

https://www.ebay.com/sh/reports/uploads

click 1. Get Template to open an overlay.

  • Select Template source → Listings
  • Select Template type → Create new listings
  • Select file type → Excel Spreadsheet (.xlsx)
  • Select categories → Sports Mem, Cards & Fan Shop
                                                 → Sports Trading Cards
                                                       → Trading Card Singles

Then Download the template and open in a spreadsheet tool like Excel.  The XLSX version of the template uses some macros to pull in data from hidden pages in the document. You must start from the left column and work your way to the right, because some selections will determine which other columns are needed and what values are allowed in those columns.

Now here is where I initially got lost. The spreadsheet has a header row that appears to have droplists. But those are empty. Instead, drop down to a data row for each listing and use the droplists in each data row. That is where the spreadsheet prefilled data will automate your listing process. So start in a new data row by selecting the droplist under Action and select "Add", then the droplist Category for Sports trading cards and then use the droplist in the data row to select the Condition ID. Those selections with alter the remaining options. Continue adding your data for each column and for each listing.

The populated template should be saved as a CSV file, to be uploaded back to the same Seller Hub > Reports > Uploads page.  Once uploaded, to the far right of the upload history report, there will be a downloadable "results" file with any errors or warnings.

You will have questions along the way, and eBay's template does not cover every business model. However, if you get far enough to post one listing and receive errors, it should be easy to get things back on track.

My apologies; for the delay in my response. 2024 will be much different for me, I started like most as a hobby and did not make the time to learn all of the available tools on ebay. Read the instructions, fail fast, ask for help, and get up to speed. I believe there is another message from you that I will read next so please accept my apologies for both messages.

Regards,
