every time I entered my correct password today, the Ebay system gave me an error message. why?

Upon entering my correct ebay password, I received the "Oops" error message.

1. I changed my password approximately 15-20 times today because of this.

2. Also received an error message that I was being redirected to a site attempting to steal my information.

3. Why did it happen so often?

4. Any tips on managing this would be appreciated.
