eBay Search Algorithm Change?

I've noticed recently that eBay search results include many items specifically excluded by search criteria. For example, I look for size 7.5 shoes and receive lots of items that are size 7. Or I look for size 8 shoes and get size 8.5.
Similar thing going on with brands. I search for specific brand and many items turn up that are not that brand.
This seems beyond seller manipulation. It seems like an eBay search algorithm change. Any thoughts?
