cancel purchase for non=payment

I'm wondering why ebay requires an unpaid item case to sit for 4 days before sale can be cancelled by seller?

and that's after the seller already had to wait 2 days before filing the unpaid item case to begin with?

it seems unreasonable that a seller loses 6 days of listing time when a buyer hasn't paid for the item.

Is there any faster way to deal with this issue so the item can be re-listed more quickly?? any insight appreciated...

It seems this often happens with a brand new ebay member who joined that day to buy your item but doesn't understand the system (or something) and doesn't pay?

it seems that an unpaid item case should be allowed to proceed much more quickly when a first day member is involved.
