can't enter item specifics in a listing

I sell a few record albums.  Today I made two new listings using the "sell similar" from another listing.  The form would not permit me to enter the "specifics."  Everything else was the same as it's always been.  It showed "specifics" but there was no red asterics next to the word and there were no blanks to fill in.  What's the deal.  This hasn't happened to me before.  I think it's advantageous to include the specifics.
