buyers premium

Why does Ebay allow sellers to add a buyers premium?  I realize it might state in great big letters " WE ARE ADDING A 50% FEE TO YOUR FINAL BID",

but that does not make it right.  I simply refuse to participate in those auctions, and, if everyone did the same, "buyers premiums (rip-off)" would disappear.

Just because something is allowed does not make it ethical. Do not participate in auctions that add a buyer's premium and those sellers will be forced to either:

a) Stop the absurd practice, or,

b) Go away
