Hello - i did not mark Local Pickup as a shipping option when I first listed an item. Now the sale is over and the buyer wants to know if she can pick it up. Is there a way to add this option after the fact? or has anyone found a way around it?

Local Pickup can not be added after the fact. The buyer may be able to request an invoice so that you can remove the shipping fee and just have the buyer pick up the item (or refund shipping after the sale). But there are no protections for you, and you'll lose a point for not providing tracking, which is not important unless maintaining a Top-Rated seller status. For a low cost item, protections may not be important.
The way to handle this entirely within the system is to have the buyer ask that you cancel and relist for local pickup.
1. Cancel the sale at buyer request.
2. Relist fixed price at the agreed price with "local pickup only".
3. Give the buyer the new listing.
3. Buyer can purchase and pay through eBay (that takes care of sales tax too).
The buyer will receive a 6-digit QR code via email that they will bring to the seller. The seller will enter the code into the Mobile App, and that verifies delivery.
If the seller doesn't have the Mobile App, or if the buyer fails to bring a QR code, then print out a copy of the sale that the buyer will sign and the seller will keep as proof of delivery.
