Why are EBayers shut out from the shaping of eBay's policies?

Dear EBayers,

Good evening, and greetings. It might be a fair opinion to state that if one does not like eBay's policies then one does not have to use the eBay platform to sell. This is where sensitivity should be tolerated. If our opinions are neither required or expected when eBay’s policies are being shaped and established. Then constructive criticism should be expected after implementation. Since eBay charges insertion, sellers fee, or both from EBayers. Why are we not a part of their policy shaping on matters that eventually affects us?

Take for instance the draconian, authoritarian and dictatorial policy on holding sellers’ funds. eBay has unilaterally decided that it has the right to hold a seller’s fund for 21 days or more, even though in many cases the purchaser will receive their item in three days, especially domestic shipment in the USA, and can give a feedback of satisfaction or dissatisfaction about the shipped item. Why then a 21 day or more hold on funds? Under the umbrella of buyer/seller protection? If eBay valued us as moving parts of the machinery, then why omit us from policy shaping decisions.

EBayers we need to take a stand against eBay’s authoritarian prejudices. I am a victim of this seller’s fund hold. While I do understand the reasons given, I have outlined above why this is discriminatory in my opinion. When I called eBay’s customer services at 866 540 3229, and after being transferred to several representatives. I was told that PayPal was responsible for this decision to hold my funds. When I called PayPal about the hold on my funds. PayPal told me that eBay is responsible for the pending and hold flags.

While I am only an EBayers for approximately 6 months. I try to build a great relationship with purchasers. I never had a returned item. I have met all shipping obligations always. I do not owe eBay any outstanding fees. I am an above average seller. So why this discrimination and prejudice against me? And I really have very little recourse because the eBay policy makers and the corporation are the almighty gods of this world.

It is my opinion that eBay’s relationship with EBayers currently leaves much to be desired. It seems like eBay has removed good customer relationship from its organizational vision plan and replaced it with a culture of bottom line profiteering. I have seen great organizations fall because the bottom line profit became the organization’s culture, and good customer services were taken out of the vision plan. I am just a simple person, but I know among the EBayers population are many great minds and bright stars. So, for compromise to enter the culture of this organization, I believe simple EBayers like me need the great minds of our population, to collaboratively help inject ideas of change into eBay’s corporate attitude of authoritarian and dictatorial principles.

If anyone has had bad experiences with a current eBay corporate policy, please add it to this post. Thanks for taking the time to read this post.

A Concerned EBayer.
