Who suppose to leave feedback first ?

As a buyer, where does it say I have to leave feedback first?  I had a friend say to me that his seller want leave feedback first after he purchase a $.9.99 item from this seller.  The seller told my friend that he will post feedback as soon as he was happy or not with his purchase ... Something along that they would like the chance to fix any issues.  I do not understand Is feedback still voluntary for a seller?

Ok... I see some replys.... So if I was the seller and a buyer left me a NEG for not leaving feedback first... Is that fair?  Will eBay remove it?

You see, I only sold one or two items since I been on eBay and was thinking to do it again...But this kind of stuff stop me.

Some buyers don't bother leaving feedback.

Some buyers won't until their seller does.

Some sellers leave feedback as soon as they are paid.

Some sellers wait till tracking shows the package arrived.

Some sellers don't leave any.

Some sellers leave feedbacks in batches, once or twice a month or so.

Some sellers only leave it after their buyers do.

As a seller (I haven't been selling for a long time, by choice) but:

When I was selling, I left feedback after my buyers did:

............No interest in leaving green donuts just because a buyer did as expected which was pay and then possibly, getting negs or DSR dings.

As a buyer, as soon as my item arrives, I check it over and give GREAT feedback!

............My sellers need to know they did a great job and that I am pleased with my purchase.

............This way, my sellers don't have to fret over possible problems coming.

............If I receive something, SNAD, I communicate with my sellers, return for a refund. I always pay for return shipping and have RARELY ever opened any case on any sellers.

Noone has to leave feedback first.....Feedback is voluntary.

Do keep in mind, that savvy sellers do read buyers' Feedbacks Left for Others' to decide whether or not buyers are risky ones..

Sellers can cancel bids and block buyers from bidding.
