Where is the protection for the Seller?

Recently we sold an airsoft gun valued at over $600 for $200. We charged $30 for shipping and we spent $80 in shipping and packaging to ensure it got there safely by wrapping the gun in 25ft of bubble wrap and wrapping each piece individually in bubble wrap and then padding all with towels. In the post we specified no refunds and no returns as we had it verfied by a tech that it was in perfect working order. The buyer made a Return Request three weeks after receiving it stating Reason:  "Doesn't work or defective" and Comments: "The gun is broke. Everything else is OK. I want a refund." We respsonded within 5 min. of receiving this request with all of the above information. It is 45 days later, the buyer still has the product, we have not received payment as funds are  "frozen" and the buyer has not responded.

This entire situation and the facts that surround it raises serious red flags as to the legitimacy of the buyers claim. Yet, with all of this the buyer is the one protected?!? Of course we can have the buyer send it back to us if we pay another $80 to cover the shipping. As the seller we will get in return the honor of spending $160 to get our airsoft gun back damaged.  Please explain the logic on this one.
