What is going on with USPS Underpaid Adjustments!

Any other sellers having this problem?

Our product/shipments are all packed the same, weight the same, have the same dimensions. We carefully weigh each and every item, then purchase Priority Mail Shipping Labels thru Ebay. When turned over to our local Post Office, they are once again weighed by them. Their weight reading always matches ours within a tenth of an ounce. We get a receipt, and the items are shipped. After a period of time, we get a notice thru Ebay that the Postal Service has charged us for “underpaid postage” on some of the shipments. These “adjustments” range from slight to ridiculous. For example, every package we send weighs in at 15.6 ounces according to our scales and the local PO scales. We get a receipt stating that. One “adjustment” claimed it actually weighed 4 pounds!!! Another demanded an extra $8 in additional postage! When this first started, we were able to show the PO receipt, and we received refunds. Now, they do not even acknowledge our claims. We are regularly losing money on our shipping. We do not wish to raise our shipping prices any more than we have. It’s not fair to the buyer. On top of all this, in many cases the so-called “Priority Mail 2-Day Delivery” is taking many extra days and in a surprising number of cases extra weeks! This is not Priority Mail. Unfortunately, Ebay simply takes the Postal Service’s word without any inquiries or checking, and proceeds to automatically deduct the “adjustments” from our sales funds.

Unfortunately, we are unable at this time to get UPS or FedEx pick-ups or I would switch in a New York Minute.

I believe this happens in certain hubs in the US, probably not all of them. And may be due to new equipment, automation or just plain incompetence.
