What is a forward-deployed item?

Hello everyone!

I was trying to make several listings and got a message that reads as follows " It appears you're listing a forward-deployed item in a country different from your registered address. These items can't be listed according to our {URL0}. To ship from overseas warehouses, apply at {URL1}".  What does this mean? I am an old seller and never had this situation before. I tried with 3 different items and none could be listed. Thank You!!

eBay seems to think you are drop-shipping or shipping items from a country different from your registration location.

Thank you for your reply! I am not dropshipping and have no idea why Ebay is ‘thinking’ that way.  Do you know how can I fix this?

Possibly the issue has something to do with the fact that when you registered your eBay account you listed Puerto Rico as your country, not the United States, but now you are listing your shipping location as Puerto Rico, United States.

Try using Puerto Rico as the country your items are shipping from rather than the United States.
