Waiting on payment from high bidder who won my item

I sold an item to the high bidder on April 21st end of auction. Said he would pay for the item on April 28th today. Just received an email saying to keep peace with his wife he is not paying for the item he won. Has anyone ever had this happen and if so what can be done at this point. Would appreciate any help on this issue. First time this has happened to me.
