Verification code required too many times

For about the past week, Ebay has been asking me to enter a verification code an excessive amount of times.  It happens almost every time I click some sort of link on the site.  For example, I went this morning to leave feedback for an item I'd bought and I had to enter a verification code FIVE (5) different times (and no I didn't make a mistake).  I've had it require me to enter a verification code BEFORE signing in, and then again directly AFTER.  This is when I am accessing Ebay through my personal PC (not used by anyone else), it does not happen when I use it on my iPad (and no I can't just use the iPad app, there are some things it won't do and need to access the site on my computer).  I've had the same computer, same iPad, been using the same service provider for years, nothing else (obvious) has changed.  Why the draconian verification measures now?  And no, I do not accept putting in tons of additional personal information for "additional security" (why does Ebay need my cell phone number if not to pester me with nuisance tests & calls).

How do I stop this ridiculous over verification?

@mestevet  Well obviously you "fit the profile" of a potential criminal ... no just kidding.  In reading various threads there seems to be issues when accounts are associated with more than one IP address and at times could get linked to say public hot spots you use on the hand held OR if you go to a friends or family member's house and use their Wi-Fi.  Our sons use our Wi-Fi for their handhelds when they are home but use their own mobile monthly data when out and about.

As a check, you might try deleting any Wi-Fi netowrks on you phone other than your home and the mobile device's monthly plan IP connection and see if that changes things.  Our one son just signed up for an eBay account and we had to instruct him NOT to log on to his account on any of his buddies local WiFis for fear of getting "linked" to other potentially bad accounts or blacklisted public hot spots.  Anyway, that's my 2 cents and suggestion for what it is worth.
