Use own Shipping Service

Hello,

Does anyone know if we can use our own shipping service for shipping products to customers? The rates that Ebay offers seem a bit too high for me.

Do we have to use their shipping service?

You can use any shipping service you like - just enter the tracking # to report the item shipped.

You get the same rates for standard usps services here as all providers.  I do that that some offer the new cubic rate, which eBay has not added yet.  Better ups rates can be found outside of eBay.

I noticed you have listed items with media mail that do not qualify for media mail - I hope you did not send anything this way.  Even when offering free shipping, you should enter the correct dimensions and weights, and select an appropriate service.  eBay uses this info when a return label is needed.

Is there a way yo do that from my account? I mean do I have to disable some settings because doesn't ebay by default use their own shipping service?

Why do your listings have Media Mail for shipping?

Those items don't qualify for Media Mail.

No, you can buy your shipping labels anywhere.

Just remember to upload the tracking numbers.

No, you go to the website for the other service.  Many other online providers integrate with eBay, so they can import your orders for you, then send the tracking back to eBay automatically.

What service were you thinking of using?

So doesn't this need to be unchecked? If it's checked here, wouldn't eBay use this information when a buyer purchases the item?

You still want to use calculated shipping to let eBay charge your buyer the correct amount.  You can then buy your label through any provider.

If you are using parcel select, all providers will charge the same rates that you pay through eBay to buy the actual label.

For a package that is 7 x 5 x 1 and 3 ounces, I would select first class package.  Of course that service will soon be merged with parcel select ground, but that won't happen for a few months.

Media mail is for books, educational printed material, etc.  You will be severely penalized by the USPS if you use  it for other items.  Yes, you have to choose the shipping.  You enter the dimensions and the weight with the type of service.  EBay calculates distance with your dimensions and  weight.  You have to ship with the type of service that you specify in the listing.
