USPS scheduling a pickup

I printed a USPS label for the 1st time. Do I need to schedule a pickup also or is that done? I did choose a date from the drop down menu. Will I get a message from USPS on a time? Do I need to be home all day waiting for them? How does this work? I can't find any help on this matter in ebay "help". Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Ruth

@natlia   If you have one day handling then I'd recommend you catch your mail person OR take it the post office.  You want to make sure you SEE it get scanned in.  

You schedule the pick up on the USPS site.

You don't have to be home but the package needs to be in a safe place where they can access it too.
