Trying to add additional photos to variation listing on android

I have a listing with variations.  I initially added 5 photos per variation.  At a later date I needed to add one more photo to each variation.  I am doing this on my cell phone.  There is no add or + button to add the photos.  It says I can add up to 7 more photos but there isn't anywhere to click to do it.  The only way I can add them is to delete 2 of the photos and that makes a blank space appear to click on but I don't want to do that cuz I don't have the original pictures that I took cuz I obviously don't keep them after I post the listing cuz then I would have thousands of photos cluttering up my phone.  So where is there a space or something to click on to add them?  Am I missing something?  I have clicked all over the page and there is nothing there.
