Tracking information not updating

Hi! I’m new to the selling world so I’m sorry if this question is stupid: I shipped a package this morning and manually entered the tracking number. I had originally printed out a label but made a rookie mistake and couldn’t ship my item the way I originally thought so had to get a new tracking number. The new tracking number isn’t offering updates through eBay even though I can see updates via USPS website. How will eBay know the item reached the buyer if the tracking number isn’t updating? For me, this was a pretty big sale and I’m afraid I won’t get my payout!

Did you void the label that you printed here?  You want the new # to be the primary - there can be up to 5 tracking #s for an order.  Plus you want to get a refund for the label you printed here.

1. Go to Manage shipping labels - opens in new window or tab.
2. Find the item you'd like to void the shipping label for, then from the Actions column, select More Actions, and then select Void.
3. Choose your reason for voiding the label. If you want to, you can add a message for the buyer.
4. Select Void shipping label.

Did you print the label through eBay? If so, both tracking #s will be attached to the transaction. When you click the tracking # to see updates, there will be a dropdown at the top to select the other tracking #.

If you did not print the label through eBay, you'll need to enter the new tracking #. Click Edit next to the one displayed, and enter the second one.

Tracking on eBay isn't updated in real time, so you may not see updates until tonight.
