I have been getting charged taxes on the shipping costs on every purchase!

This can't be legal?

Tax should only be on purchase price of item not total purchase cost of item and shipping!

It is up to your state - they tell eBay what is taxable and what is not taxable.

More states than not consider shipping to be a taxable part of your purchase.  It is perfectly legal - your state passed the law.

You should bring that up with your state reps, since it's your state that requires Ebay to collect sales tax on the shipping also.
