Shipping charges for additional items...

Hi there,

4 frustrating hours on the phone with ebay have gotten me nowhere:(.  My question is about shipping.  I have a shipping policy set up so that the first item ships priority USPS for $10 and each additional items adds $5.  This policy works perfectly provided my customer is buying multiple items from the same listing (which rarely happens.)  If a customer orders 2 of the exact same item, then they are charged $10 +$5 =$15 as expected.  If however a customer orders 2 items from seperate listings (even though these listings are under the same shipping policy,) the customer is charged $10 + $10 =$20.  Surely there is a way to sell multiple items from multiple listing to one customer and offer some sort of discounted shipping.  I realize on the customer preference page there is a way to set up a promotional shipping rule, but the rules available are based on the purchase price and not on the number of items being shipped and this wouldnt work for me.  Any help would be much appreciated.

My goal:  Customer buys Widget A, Widget B, and Widget C and pays $10 +$5 +$5 = $20 for shipping.

thx

You need to set up the rules, as described above, but then you need to add those rules to your listings.

What you do have set up is the 'each addtional' shipping - this gets you the multiples from the same listing. What you need to set up and add to your listings is the combined shipping rules, which combines items from different listings.

Click the combined payments links in the post above, and create your rules. You can create multiple rules if needed - I have 6 rules.

Then use bulk edit to add the rules to items. Select your items, then click edit. Select the items on the edit page, then pick domestic shipping discounts from the pull down menu of edit fields. Select the rule, then click add to add, save and close. Then click submit back on the main edit page.
