Selling limits reduced

Anyone know why the selling amount on individual items have been reducved to under $1,000? I've been selling for over 8 years and have a spotless record, I also have a very large limit on the number of items and the total listing amounts collectively, but for some reason eBay has set a limit to under $1,000.00 for individual items. Just a few months ago there was no limt that I was aware of. I've been forced to sell on other auction sites, which is OK, but this is a mystery. As usual, when I call, no one there has a clue, so I given up calling out of frustration. I also noticed the eBay assistance crew is a lot less freindly and they cut you off real quick if you ask inteligent questions.
